If we could have one more day,
we wouldn't ask for very much.
No grand occasion, special place,
just one more chance to feel your touch.

We'd sit and talk of ordinary things,
perhaps we'd laugh until we cried.
We'd tell you all the things we thought
we'd always have the time to say.

And when that final moment came,
we'd hold you close and whisper low,
how very much you meant to us,
how very hard it is to let you go.

But since we cannot have that day,
we'll treasure all the ones we knew,
and be forever grateful
that our lives were shared with you.
